Yesterday we were off to Moncton for what the doctor tells us might be out last visit with her. All fluid measurements are good, and the babies are growing extremely well. 3lbs 8oz and 3lbs 5 oz. If all stays that way (I'll be closely monitored in C'ton), and there is no complications (ie: labor) between now and then, I can deliver via C-section in C'ton. Tentative date that we have discussed is July 18th, at which point, will bring us to 38weeks!! So, with already the size of almost a 7 lb baby...7 more weeks to go!!!
So, not only was yesterday the longest drive to Moncton ever because I'm a little uncomfortable to begin with, but I have a miserable cold...AND, it was my Birthday!!! We had planned to go out for supper, but in the end I was so sick, and couldn't taste a thing anyway, we pulled into McDonalds and headed for home!! When we got here, I crawled into bed and Scott said he had a few things to do in C'ton. WEll... he arrived home with a Birthday Cake...but not only A cake...but THE cake that I had said I wanted for my Birthday about 4 monthes ago and forgot about. The "Strawberry Cheesequake Blizzard Cake" from Dairy Queen!! Yummmy...today I was actually able to taste it but that didn't stop me from sampling it last night anyway!!
On the weekend we (by "we" I mean Scott and his dad), were able to lay down some patio blocks and put up my screen gazebo and I love it. Someplace to go this summer where I don't have to worry about the flies, and it's really big too. I have my patio furniture in there, and still lots of room. So, that's my update for the time being, will keep you all posted!! J

27 weeks...
Aside from child birth, which has yet to make the list, I have found that the need to urinate is undoubtably the most uncomfortable state I have ever been in. Not just the fact that I have to pee every 15 mins for the last 2 weeks anyway, 'cause baby A appears to have found comfort with her head resting (by resting I mean pushing forcefully) against my bladder, but also drinking in preperation for an ultrasound that sometimes is 45mins to an hour late, all the while with your belly full of baby(ies). Thank Heaven that this whole water drinking process only has to be done in C'ton and not in Moncton as well. So for now it's only every 4 weeks...soon to be 2...then once...then twice/week...CRAP!!
So we had our reg biweekly ultrasound in Moncton yesterday and all is well. Babies are growing fast. They are approx. the same size (2 lbs and 2lbs 1oz). Positioning is another story, Baby A is very low and breach, and baby B is transverse and more to the right. Although from the feel of it I think they enjoy changing position quite frequently.
For those of you are still asking, still no strange symptoms like cravings (although yah! for lobster season and Sally's ice cream), strange dreams (who unlike my sister dreamed that her baby turned into a banana), streatchmarks (yet), you name it I probably have not had it.
Week 3 done for prenatal classes and a gold star for Scott, who has not fallen asleep during any..yet...even during 2 1/2 hours of breastfeeding!!
The nursery was officially started on the weekend, and after 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint (I had no idea that hideous blue was so bright) the room is now "Celestial Sun" (a.k.a Yellow) and the bottom 3 feet of the wall is "Egg Shell" Weinscotting board. Although the boards have yet to be painted and are still "Wood". My bed set is in (thanks Mom) . My crib will be in May 17th, so hopefully all the painting and molding will be finished by then, because on the 15th Scott starts fishing again!! This time of year was hectic to begin with...
So I guess that's all for my updating session. A BIG congrats to Myah who is expecting again in November. I jokingly said to her, as a small group still left in the area, we're doing a damned good job of repopulating this freakin' town!! Somebody's gotta do it...
I'll post some pics soon..Maybe I'll wait 'till Sunday, I'm sure there will be more than one camera pointing in the direction of my belly!!

Hi all...

It's been a while, but all is well just the same. The babies are growing and time is flying by like crazy. I think by next week, we should have a start on the nursery...now that my house is nice and clean (Happy Easter to us from mom)!! I am still getting ultrasounds on a biweekly basis, at last check in Moncton on April 3rd, the babies were both over a pound. Baby A is just a little over an ounce smaller, which is normal. My belly definitly shows it as well, you should be able to tell by the pic...and I'm slowing losing my belly button. It was a busy w'end past, with the 3 on 3 hockey tourni in town, Friday my long day at the rink was showing in my "cankles". But I still feel good, just starting to get a bit uncomfortable doing the everyday things like rolling over in bed, getting in and out of my car...I love the truck for that reason.
I have a blood test tomorrow morning at the hospital, it's a glucose tolerence test. Just a routine 6 month thing to see how well my body is tolerating sugar.
I'm still no good at placing the pics where I want them on the page, just minor details I guess. So here is me tonight at 24 weeks (as of tomorrow). The pic of baby A looks as though she is singing, the tech doing it thought this pic was hilarious...I sure hope she is not, 'cause if she sings anything like her mom and dad, we're in for trouble. Baby B's pic is not so clear, but you can still make her out a little. Finally, we were able to get a pic with both of them in it...reason being as she was doing the US, baby B turned and is now vertex, just like her sister. I had newer US pics from last week, but I thought these were a little better. I'll try to keep you all posted a little more frequently.

Busy...Busy...Busy
So my last day of work was on Friday, but still no R&R in sight for us gals. Today I had a meeting at 1000 with personnel to finish off some paper work. Then at 1300 I had a meeting for NANB to organize what is left to do about our nursing social for Nurses Week, which is officially going to be on May 10th. We have a good night planned, should be entertaining. Tomorrow I'm off to the dentist, something I have been putting off, but...my year is up. Wednesday I have a appt. with the dieticien, Thursday I have an ultrasound at 1300, then an appt. with Dr.Vogus afterwards. Finally We're off to Moncton for the weekend. We're not sure if we're gonna leave on Thursday evening or Friday morning, but Scott has to be in Sussex for 1230 on Friday afternoon. That's always a fun weekend as well...I'm also in desperate need of some spring fashion.
Amy, Landon and Hudson are coming home this week, but by the looks of it I might not get to spend a whole lot of time visiting. This week I also have to come up with a nursery theme, so I can at least start looking. I think I'm still going to go with yellow & brown for the room...and although they are sooo hard to find, I love bumble bees.
I better go put on supper, I'll post some pics as soon as I get some new ones. J

"La Fheile Padraig Sona" (Happy St. Paddy' s Day)

May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
Hi all. Just a little tribute to St. Paddy's Day. As most of us look at this day as just another occasion to drink beer, so beit if it is green, today is almost like a holiday for my family. Best memories are of my mom, gram and aunts at the Irish Festival in Chatham getting over excited 'cause they just found another "perfect" accessory to go with their March 17th attire. So ma, where are your green sparkly shoes anyway? Although this year for the first time I will not be touching the whiskey, I am almost sure it would not harm the little ones. I know this because my earliest recall of myself drinking Irish coffee was at the age of ...well let's just say I was a wee one!!
Gonna leave you all with a few pics from our trip to Ireland 2 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long already. The first few pics of the stone building is the house that my gram grew up in. Against what everyone thought would be in my best interest, I actually crawled about until I was able to get in. After I was in and deemed the area somewhat safe, everyone followed. We went through cupboards and drawers. Found some pretty neat things... that other one is of my mom and her cousin holding up a strange bottle they found inside the house. The rest are just of my gram's sister Nel's house where she lives with her son Liam and his wife Bridget, my gram and I on the shores of the Irish sea, and of course sheep...loads of sheep!!
and...
"May you get to heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead."

So, The R&R process has officially began. Last day of work was yesterday, and although I though I wouldn't be quite ready to go off work at 5 monthes, I was wrong!! At the end of the day my feet are even swollen and starting to feel picky... good indicator to stay off them. Scott is gone snowmobiling for the afternoon and I have nestled in with a few movies I have been wanting to watch.
I was at the theatre in Bathurst a few monthes ago and a preview for a movie came on, it seemed so familiar. It was almost like I had seen it before. Reason being, I had read the book about 3 years back. It was of the best books ever, "A Good Year" by Perer Mayle. Although the book is always beter than the movie, Russel Crow did a super job. The movie takes place in Provence France...a must read...or at least a must see!!
Sorry no news on the girls since my last post, I will be going for and U/S on Thursday, to Dr. Vogus office after, the to Moncton again on April 3rd. I'll make sure to keep you all updated on the latest, Jillian

As most of you have already heard...

Twin A & Twin B are officially Baby girl A & Baby girl B. Yep...two healthy little girlies. We had been so undecided about finding out the gender, but it's come down to preparations. Getting ready, both mentally and physically, for one is hard enough. But two... you can only buy so much yellow. So, in the end we caved. They are doing well...so far so good. They weigh 256 and 221 grams, which is just over 1/2 pound each. Their fluid levels are good, and their growth is similar, which is the reason we have to get checked so often. One of them is vertex (head down like she should be), but the other is breech (feet down). They might change position between now and then, but the chances of a c-section in my case are still very high. I also still may have to deliver in Moncton, but it all depends what happens between now and then.Yes, that picture that you see is definitly a leg. The doctor found it was so clear, she couldn't help but take a pic.
I'm actually starting to look forward to my time off. My last day is next Friday. I thought I would be bored, but some R&R will do me just fine. A few low key projects to do, like finally fill in my pregnancy book with all kinds of fun things (like the inability to go 4 hours without Froot-Loops). We also start pre-natal classes in April, I'm kinda looking forward that too.
I started to finally feel them move. Sunday night, and they have not stopped since...very busy gals. Oh, and last but not least...the much anticipated Moi !! For theose of you wondering, and I know you are, I have gained a total of about 24 Lbs so far. Sounds like alot, but it all seems to have gone where it's suppose to ...So far!!!

What a mess!!!
Being the good house wife that I am, I just decided I was going to do some laundry before I get into my jammies for the night...only to find that my 8.87 litle (78 load) Costco Tide has a leak in it, and not only that, I believe the leak has been there for a few days, 'cause there is freakin' Tide everywhere in my closet!!!
I once had a babysiter who spilled boiling milk (she was making my sister and I hot chocolate) all inside the burner of the stove. Myself, being around 4 or 5 years old asked her if it was going to stick...said to us "Does it stick?...Does it stick?...it sticks like shit to a blanket"!!! Well Shanna dear, ...So does TIDE!! I'm telling you I have never been in a mess like this before, it is even run down the back of the deep freeze. I was even nervous to put the clothes in the washer, because some of them are so saturated in soap, I'm scared the washer will EXPLODE!
That was my excitement for the night, needless to say my laundry basket has been chucked. I refuse to take the time to clean the inside of it...time for a new one anyway.

Movement??
So, I'm 18 weeks now, and everyone keeps asking me if I'm feeling anything?...Anything...yes, babies...nope. So when I say no, of course all keep saying well, I felt mine at 10,11,12,13,14 weeks. I also get the famous...OMG your having twins and you never felt them yet? It makes me nutty...my mind starts to second guess, and I get nervous. Am I normal, 'cause all these strangers don't seem to think I am? I think being a nurse actually makes it worse, you start to think the worst, recalling all these strange text book stories...that I'm sure you all don't want to know about. So, this week at work I was telling the girls my story, they were reassuring, but judging by the look on my face, that obviously wasn't enough. So, with no patients in the recovery room, out comes the doppler ( which is a machine to detect blood flow ie; a heart beat). We use it at work if we think a patient might have a thrombosis (blocked vein) somewhere. To be honest, we have not used it since I have been there...until now!!! So, up I get on the stretcher, Danika gels up my belly (and of course we don't have a nice gel warmer like in the actual ultrasound room)...and there it was... 3 distinct heartbeats. NO, don't get ahead of your self...2 babies plus mine. Mine at 86, both little ones at 166bpm...Fewwwfff...what a relief.
By the way, I am not abnormal. It's well documented that some women don't feel any movement until 22-24 weeks...even with twins. I will be headed to Moncton next Tuesday to see my neonatologist...Keep ya posted.

Weekend of Relaxin' Well Spent

Not a whole lot to tell. Besides the fact that I'm craving for soft banana ice cream and Sally's does not open for another 85 days! I had lobster instead, now that just couldn't wait 'till May. I went to see Dr. Vogus on Thursday, who has now recommended that I do not return to work after my vacation in March. I said from the beginning that I would do whatever the smart people tell me to do...So, I guess March 16th will be my last day for a while. I'm not on any strict restrictions...yet, but he tells me that R&R will be the best thing for the three of us right now.
I'm so excited, I received an email from Sarah Hayes (Hayes-Brown now) last week. It was great to hear from her, we have so much catching up to do. I find myself laughing extremely hard outloud when reading her emails, so as most of you can gather, she hasn't changed a bit. I can't remember the last time we spoke, it might have been in 1996 when she graduated. For those of you who don't know Sarah, we spent alot of time together in junior high with sports, road trips and of course can't ever forget rooming together on the Ottawa trip, we actually had to sleep together at Concordia University 'cause it was so freakin' cold. All kinds of crazy stuff. This picture is dedicated to ..."Finding Sarah", well she actually found me, she's in Pennsylvania, but hopes to come home to visit real soon. Sorry Jenn, although it was your birthday in 1993, you just weren't looking at my mom when she snapped the pic. This was also the famous day in history when we received our much anticipated Charlo Sharks Fan jersy's!!! Love you guys...

Alright...Alright...15 weeks!!
Hehe... Notice I'm not smiling, in my mind I'm picturing myself doing his every few weeks for monthes to come! Everyone kept telling me to start taking pics of my belly early so that I could compare, but I was putting it off, 'cause I was not seeing any real changes...that is until about a week ago!!! I'm telling you guys, this literally appeared what seemed like, over night. Literature says that by the 13th week the baby starts to rise, I guess if there are two rising... this might be the outcome. I started not being able to fit into my clothes comfortably by week 10 or so, which was also the week I found out that there were two hiding in there... Hey, at least it made me feel a little bit better! I started wearing maternity/now & after clothes around week 12. I bet you all can't wait to watch me expand... J
I promise I'll smile next time!!

Just another Saturday...

Finally a weekend when neither of us are on-call. No plans, just nice to be able to do what ever we feel like doing. Going to the high school game tonight...Go Condors Go!! Went to see Alpha Dog last night. Loved it ...the ending was not as I expected though, which made it that much better.
Just bought a new scanner...need to get my U/S pics for all you guys right? So, I'm currently pulling out my hair trying to get it all set up. Here it goes...this will hopefully be us, two weeks ago, at our appointment in Moncton (13 weeks)...Say hello to Baby "A" & Baby "B". I have another appointment with Dr. Vogus next week, so I should have some more then. Yes, I will also eventually post some belly pics for all those who have been asking. Goin' to relax...

Tidbits...
So, here I am ...along with everyone else! I said I would never put myself "out there" for all to read, but this is definitly going to simplify my life ...and simplicity in my life is what I'm after right now, and for a long time coming!! So, as of today we're 13 weeks and 5 days, and the little ones are doing well. We had decided we were not going to find out the sex of the babies, but I have since been told that I will have to go routinely for multiple ultrasounds, so I guess eventually I will be able to figure it out for myself. I can't just go there and not watch them...they're freakin' hilarious. My expected due date is August 1st...Not going to happen!! They say everyday over 34 weeks...mid June... is a good thing. So let's keep our fingers crossed...
